My dear past presidents, senior members, guests and fellow builders, a very good evening to all of you.
CREDAI Kolkata is an institution that has been created and nurtured over the past decades to be a key stakeholder in the urban growth in and around Kolkata. The efforts put in by presidents and committees of the past and the whole hearted participation and support which all our members have shown towards the organization has today made it a force to reckon with. Today CREDAI Kolkata is respected across the government as well as industry and is able to secure a seat at the table in matters which are important to the real estate industry.
It is my absolute privilege to have been given this honour by all of you to lead this august institution. Those who have come before me have shown the path and I hope to humbly carry on the good work with support from all of you.
In the last few years, the transparency and inclusiveness have moved to newer heights. Given that we are slowly moving into an election year in Bengal, I think that there is an even greater opportunity to look inwards and harvest the strength of our community.
We have a vibrant and energetic Youth Wing. They have and continue to focus on both camaraderie as well as learning. Along with the national youth wing, they will look to create opportunities for members and our teams to up our learning quotient with a combination of online and offline learning.
The power of a vibrant and engaged community cannot be underestimated. If we develop deep and honest relations within our community it enables us to tap the resources of the community in good as well as tough times. Hence, we do intend to focus on this with more events like our Diwali nights and open house formats where members can interact with each other more meaningfully.
There is also an opportunity to increase interactions between our members and various departments like WBRERA, Urban Development, the IGR etc. where interactions can be taken just beyond the principal secretaries to senior people within the department who tend to stick to departments for much longer and increased interaction will help us understand each other and create an atmosphere of trust.
The one thing that we should all be very proud of is that CREDAI is today a well-oiled machinery with a very strong secretariat and very active members across our youth and our senior members. This means that while the committee and I will put our best foot forward to take forward the interests of our industry, you can rest assured that CREDAI today is benefiting from the active work of tens of people and not dependent on the president or vice presidents alone.
CREDAI Kolkata is your organization and all of us in the committee and the secretariat are available and eager to hear your thoughts and suggestions. Your active participation is key in taking CREDAI Kolkata forward and I look forward to working with all you.
Once thank you for the opportunity.
Jai Hind.
Best Regards,

APURVA SALARPURIA
President, CREDAI Kolkata
(*CREDAI Bengal is now CREDAI Kolkata)
